After several nominations, The Slanted Door finally won Outstanding Restaurant Award from James Beard Foundation in 2014.

Charles Phan inducted into Who's Who of Food & Beverage in America

The 2011 James Beard Awards saw The Slanted Door's Charles Phan named to the foundation's prestigious Who's Who of Food & Beverage in America. He also won Best Chef Pacific from the foundation in 2004

Bi-Rite, Frances, Slanted Door, and Delfina All Cook for Mission High

Mission High principal Eric Guthertz promised students he would get a famous chef to cook them lunch if they raised their test scores. When the school's average score jumped 70 points, the students got their reward: A gourmet meal cooked by Melissa Perello of Frances, Craig Stoll of Delfina, Sam Mogannam of Bi-Rite Market, and The Slanted Door's own Charles Phan — himself an alumnus of Mission High.

The Slanted Door Named to Bib Gourmand Restaurant List in 2011 Michelin Guide

The Slanted Door is listed in the 2011 Michelin Guide to San Francisco with a Bib Gourmand rating. According to the guide, this means "the restaurant is an inspector's favorite for good value. For $40 or less, you can enjoy two courses and a glass of wine or dessert."
